Integration Sessions
Integration bodywork sessions draw upon our core pillars of Presence, Connection and Safety as a support for what emerges within your self-practices. Jess tunes into the space between the subtle and the gross, tracking into what is not usually spoken or noticed, bringing forward enough safety to allow the process to unfold on its own. Sessions may include tactile body work or work around the body in the energetic field.
Jess’ sessions create a foundation of safety first, from this place of a gentle acknowledging and welcoming of all the parts of ourselves to come forward. From this space clients are reminded that they instinctively already know what to do as these parts come forward, it’s just about peeling back the layers that keep them forgetting this innate knowing.
The process of turning inwards can be messy and chaotic, so when we start with exactly where we are, we create a space of non-hierarchical potential–a Space Between. Jess trusts what emerges in the present moment, and allows your body to lead the way, and that way together we stay within the window of tolerance. Rather than standing in the role of a practitioner, Jess stands in as a revealer, an interpreter to the parts of us that seek to be welcomed back.
What is the intention of these sessions?
To invite a facilitation of the whole system, integrating all the parts of ourselves and potentially produce outcomes that include:
Flexibility – increase in physical, emotional and mental flexibility.
Adaptability – increased ability to adapt to change.
Coherence – unified wholeness and improved resilience of self.
Energy – increased levels of vitality for living.
Stability – a greater internal sense of safety, trust and presence.
Are my sessions private?
Unless specifically requested, usually the sessions happen in a group room because we find it accelerates your progress. In the room you may hear and sense other people. Remain present with your own process, noticing changes to your breathing, movement and awareness. But yes these sessions can be private to support our self-practice work together.
How does it work?
Initially your first session is 60 minutes and is one-on-one with the Jess. This allows for a comprehensive assessment of your unique case history. Your following sessions usually last for around 20 - 40 minutes. During the sessions you will lie face down on the table, fully-clothed.
You will experience a series of specific light contacts along the length of your spine. These specific contacts illicit a response from your nervous system to relinquish its defence tension and move from a default habit of bracing and defending, towards one of ease and movement.
What should I do while having a session?
It’s best during a session to remain in a relaxed but aware state, noticing what is happening in your spine and with your breathing. Allow your body to respond and move as it wants to, your body wants to relinquish its tension and learn a more efficient way of organising its energy.
When we create enough safety that that any fears around the truth of how the body is showing up in the present moment can be released, we remember the deeper impulse of the body/soul, empowering it to show up and choose its own path, from the inside out. It is a true process of freedom. Allow your body to respond and move as it wants to. Your body naturally wants to relinquish its tension and learn a more efficient way of organising its energy.
